• By selecting New View, you can open a second window on your current image.
• You can set one window to one view, and the other window to a different view, and see any changes you make updated in both views.
• You can even set one window to Preview, and see your changes updated in the other window, thereby getting around the inability to change your illustration in Preview mode.
• However, New View is slow and takes more memory*.

Again, depending on the complexity of your drawing and the special effects you are using, New View may be more trouble than it's worth.
If you are using a large screen with your Macintosh, or you are running under MultiFinder, you may not have enough memory to open a New View.
